Shana received her Master’s degree in counseling psychology from Angelo State University. She is married and has 4 children (2 girls and 2 boys). Shana and her family relocated to Corpus Christi to be near the water in 2013. She loves the ocean and the outdoors. Her counseling style is non-judgemental, directive, and relaxed.
Shana has a wide variety of experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings doing administration, group therapy, case management and individual therapy with all ages. She sees ages 4 through adult. She uses specific types of therapy depending upon the issues and incorporates relaxation and mindfulness into all her sessions. She specializes in working with adults and children with trauma, children & adolescents with depression and anxiety, women’s issues, and couples counseling. She expects active involvement from all her clients, however the treatment plan and goals will be driven around the client, as every client is different!
Shana utilizes a wide variety of therapeutics techniques including the following:
Adults & Adolescents with trauma: Cognitive Processing Therapy - 12 to 20 sessions.
Children with trauma: Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - approximately 20 sessions
Children with Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, and other issues - play therapy with CBT curriculum - starts with 20 sessions and will continue as needed.
Adults and adolescents with depression and anxiety - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - session amounts vary
Couples Counseling-utilizes Prepare-Enrich curriculum in sessions
Parenting-utilizes Love and Logic Curriculum
Christina Ketchum, M.S., LCSW-S
Licensed Clinical Social Worker- Supervisor
Christina earned a Master of Science in Clinical Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington and holds a clinical license in the state of Texas. Christina is also recognized as a board approved supervisor and is passionate about training the next generation of healing professionals.
Christina is friendly, respectful, encouraging, genuine, non-judging, emotionally engaged and is very comfortable discussing all life issues. Christina is a Dialectical & Cognitive Behavior Therapist and trained in Interpersonal Neurobiology from the Mindsight Institute, is a Transformation Meditation Teacher, a certified counselor in Intuitive Eating, trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy and Trauma Focuced Cogntive Behavior Therapy. She is dedicated to helping her clients find peace with their past hurts, joy & wisdom in their current circumstances and gain tools to pursue their full potential.
Christina is skilled in working with couples and families in order to create harmony, accountability, understanding and effective communication. Christina provides parenting counseling / training using the Love & Logic and Whole-Brain Child programs and couples counseling using the Prepare-Enrich program.
Christina understands each person and/or family is unique and therapy must be tailored around personalities, environmental factors, the presenting problems, and therapeutic goals. She also uses a holistic approach that will focus on every aspect of life: emotional, physical, mental, spiritual, environmental, and relational components.
