For most of my life, I have wanted to work in a helping profession. I was raised in a military family and had the opportunity to meet a variety of people from different cultures and ethnicities, teaching me about the uniqueness of individuals. As a counselor, I focus on the whole individual, their perspectives, values, and beliefs. I use an integrated approach while working with the client(s) to help them find what they are seeking from counseling.
My focus is on client wellness as a whole, using CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and creativity where appropriate. At times, I bring in art therapy and narrative techniques depending on what the client's goals are for therapy. I work with children, teenagers, adults, and couples. With children, I often use play therapy strategies and expressive arts in session. My strengths as a counselor include helping those with anxiety, trauma, divorce, stress management, anger management, ADHD, and relationships. I also have experience in helping those struggling with substance use and abuse, depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, OCD, and symptoms of schizophrenia. Feel free to reach out if you or someone you know would like to talk about what is affecting you and your quality of life.
